🔥 This will almost certainly make or break your dancers’ experience as a high-performing competitor…
Because there’s one action ALL successful dancers, performers and artists do before getting on stage that the unsuccessful don’t…
Here’s A Quick Story
🎯 Here’s a quick story and lesson:
I was Adam Sandler’s private movement coach for the movie PIXELS. 🎮 Worked with him on set for a few days.
One day in his trailer I’m teaching him how to do the moonwalk. He asks:
“Shawn, what do you think? Am I ready?” To which I replied:
“You’re better, but no… You’re not there yet.” 😬
Here’s The Lesson
🎯 LESSON: The one action all successful performers do is get pro advice BEFORE a performance.
✅ Whether it’s singing a song before an award show, filming a scene in a movie, or in your case- dancing on stage at competition.
✅ The performers we admire understand the importance of getting professional insight BEFORE showtime.
✅ As I said before, this can make or break your experience as a competitive dancer. If you don’t want to be one of the 99% of dancers who fail, grab a spot at my LIVE Pre-Comp Masterclass this Saturday.
I’ll share unconventional wisdom you can apply immediately! It’s online. Watch from your cellphone, just like what you’re doing right now.

Originally from Toronto Canada, Byfield left the hustle and grind of the big city for a more relaxed Okanagan lifestyle.
But living in Kelowna hasn’t slowed his passion for the arts. Shawn is looking for new students who want tolearn how to tap dance, or want to level up their current skills.
Tap Dancing Is Great For Social Connections
Not only is tap dancing a great physical and mental workout, it’s a wonderful way to be social and make new friends.
“Tap dancing changed my life!” states Byfield, who recently got married to a tap dance lover like himself. “I met my wife through this art form. What else could be better?!”
If you’ve been wishing for more tap dance in your life, brush off your shoes and add your name to the waitlist. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet your new bestie or dance partner like Shawn did.
ATTENTION: Okanagan Dance Parents and Competitive Dancers
Shawn Byfield here! Welcome to an AWESOME summer dance intensive in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Byfield Dance Intensive is for competitive, dance-loving teens aged 13-19 who want to rise to a challenge, feel good about their choices, and feel better about THEMSELVES.

This 3 day summer dance intensive boosts confidence in dancers, while giving a physical challenge that prepares participants with REAL SKILLS needed for a fulfilling career in the arts.
If this resonates with you or your dancer, and you currently dance in Kelowna, Vancouver, Summerland, Penticton, Lake Country or other areas of the Okanagan, read all the information here.
This dance intensive could be EXACTLY what you’ve been looking for!
Sometimes, just like football, we let interference stop the play. ⛔ What’s “Interference” you ask? Read on…
Interference in football is a penalty 🚩 when an opposing player illegally blocks you from catching the football. 🤼♂️ Like when a player pulls your jersey, grabs your helmet, or trips you on purpose.
Does This Happen To You?
Sometimes, we create our OWN interference. Yup, we block our own pass. 😔
And then we wonder why we’re not getting the touchdown we wanted? 🤷🏾♂️ It’s because we’re getting in our own way!
There’s 2️⃣ forms of interference we create ourselves:
❎ One is mental interference, things we tell ourselves.
❎ The other is physical interference, stuff like our phones, TV, and other distractions.
Byfield Dance Intensive Helps You Get The Touchdown
🗓️ On August 5th, 6th and 7th, I’m running BYFIELD DANCE INTENSIVE. One of the conversations will be HOW to stop getting in our own way. HOW to stop creating our own interference that prevents us from dancing at our fullest, and living our best life. ❤️
I have three (3) full and immersive days of dance, growth and inspiration waiting for you! Only in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Just like a photographer, we all see the world differently based on the LENS we choose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let’s keep this simple:
🔎 How YOU see things isn’t always how someone else sees things, simply because you don’t have the same lens.
🔎 Sometimes, we’re STUCK seeing things one way. Because we only have one lens in our arsenal in which to see the world.
🔎 And sometimes, that lens gets dirty! Because of what we watch, what we read, and who we spend time with.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’re looking for a way to change how to see things, I’d suggest intentionally looking for what’s right, what’s good, and what’s possible in the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s not easy. And it’s not the only way. But it’s a start! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s true: When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ – Shawn Byfield⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Kelowna #kelownaliving #kelownabusiness #kelownalife #kelownalifestyle #kelownasmallbusiness #dancekelowna #kelownadance #kelownadancers #kelownaentrepreneur #okanaganlife #okanaganlifestyle #okanaganbusiness #kelownaevents #dancestudio #dancestudioowner
STOP! Read that again. ☝⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There’s absolutely no doubt this was a tough, challenging year for myself personally. I’m certain it’s been a challenge for you also.
There have been so many wonderful highlights in this year. Like new blessings, renewed opportunities I had or didn’t make time for, and a much needed PAUSE to reflect on other things I unconsciously and unintentionally take for granted.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus- my “Pivotability” has improved 10 fold! ♻️
If 2020 taught me anything, it can be simply summed up in one word… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ …RESILIENCE. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They say when the going gets tough, the _____ ____ _____. Even when it sucks. Even when it seems impossible to win.
2020 threw (and landed) some surprising punches. They hit HARD. If you’re feeling bruised, battered, confused, and dizzy with uncertainty, so am I. But I choose to keep fighting, and going for all 10 rounds.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Put your dukes up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because the ONLY way 2020 wins is if we quit! It won’t win without a fight. SO DON’T QUIT! Let’s whoop ass the rest of this year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ROLL CALL: Who’s fighting with me?
