As a respected judge for dance competitions and festivals, Shawn Byfield creates remarkable, award-winning choreography for dance studios, and works well with your Junior, Intermediate and Senior students in tap dance, hip hop, variety and musical theatre.

From solos and duets, to groups and productions, Shawn has an eye for creative and fun choreography dancers, judges, and audiences enjoy!

Shawn worked as a dancer and choreographer on numerous producions such as Make Your Move, How She Move, SKINS TV series for MTV, the JUNO Awards, Royal Canadian Air Farce, as well as many popular shows on TV networks MUCHMUSIC, CBC, CTV, YTV, CITYTV and Bravo.

He's an expert at making actors look and feel comfortable moving in front of the camera. Shawn is great at communicating, translating the director’s ideas, and creating visual choreography that can be edited perfectly in your scene.

An in demand artist, Shawn has created dance & theatre choreography for the Brampton’s Rose Theatre, Toronto Centre for the Arts, Young People’s Theatre, The National Arts Centre, Betty Oliphant Theatre, Winter Garden Theatre, Massey Hall, Penticton Lakeside Resort, and other prominent performance centres across Canada.

Not only is Shawn a DORA MAVOR MOORE AWARD recipient (Canada’s TONY AWARD) as co-creator and choreographer of “I THINK I CAN,” he is also one of Canada’s ONLY dancer pros who a GEMINI AWARD nominee.
