WOW… Here’s Why ASKHOLES Drive Me Nuts!

askhole Funny, but not funny post. One of the most frustrating people I meet: ASKHOLES.

“Someone who continually asks for advice and does nothing with it”

If you didn’t know this about me already:

I LOVE helping you. I really do.

I know I’m a wired encourager and my purpose is to help others achieve their higher potential. It’s embedded deep in my dna to support anyone trying to make a positive difference on a personal, family, community or global level. I’ll always be on your side, rooting for you to win! However…

…I can only encourage, challenge and cheer you on so much.

I discovered askholes a long time ago, and unfortunately, they still live among us. These people have to be willing to accept advice, stop asking more questions, stop looking for more motivation, stop reading more quotes, stop making excuses and actually IMPLEMENT the steps, strategies, feedback and advice given.

It drives me nuts when someone repeatedly asks what I think they should do, then they go do something else. Why did you waste my time? More importantly, why did you waste yours?

Round And Round They Go

hamsterwheel

It’s like being on a hamster wheel.

Those cute pets* will run and run and run, thinking they’re getting ahead. In reality, even though the wheel goes round and round they’re actually in the same physical place. (*Hairy rodents? Mice with fur?)

Sometimes, askholes don’t even realize their destructive habit. They have to get off the hamster wheel of seeking advice with little intention of implementing, and start DOING.

Read what Darren Hardy has to say about Askholes here.

If you know you’re struggling with this, help is out there. Know that I love you, but I refuse to support your habit! And if you’re not, know that it’s NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to do the work for the askholes around you.

Share this with all the askholes in your life and let’s all grow together,

LAUNCHING SOON! Toronto’s Favourite Hip Hop and Tap Dance Classes

Toronto hip hop and tap dance classes

Toronto hip hop and tap dance classes

It’s time to grow. It’s time to reach the next level. TAPDANCE MASTERY and HIPHOP DANCE WORKOUT will rock your world!

These classes are for dancers who want to break away from boring and actually see tangible PROGRESS week, after week, after week. Too many times, dancers come to class and get frustrated, because they’re keep returning at the same level…

…Unfortunately, nothing improves if there’s no consistent, weekly effort. You have to WORK AT IT.

These new sessions will give dancers that satisfaction of PROGRESS. When you know you’ve committed to a tap dance or hip hop dance class every single week, when you have to practice what you’ve learned, and when everyone expects to see you in dance class next week, same time, same place, you become accountable for your progress.

And Here’s The Best Part…

The best part? Because there’s a room full of friends supporting and rooting for you each and every week, all striving to improve their dance skills also, you quickly start to SEE the difference. You FEEL the difference. You BECOME better.

It just works.

90% of success in life is just SHOWING UP.

If you want to get better, commit to being better. Challenge yourself to doing something better. Surround yourself with those who strive to be better.

TAPDANCE MASTERY and HIPHOP DANCE WORKOUT are the classes that push you to get there.

I’m looking for a few positive people with courage and commitment who want to see growth in their dance skills AND also in fitness level. The coming new dance term at www.BDXstudio.com will take you there, you’ll see. Get excited!

Drop me a line- what do YOU want to get better at? Leave your thoughts below,

Totally Cool 60 Second Weekend Update (Better Than SNL)

Remember the days of Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Kevin Nealon & Tina Fey’s Weekend Updates, and Lonely Planet videos? Remember when Ashlee Simpson was busted lip-syncing on live TV, then covered up doing a hoedown dance?

Not sure about you, I used to watch SNL religiously every Saturday night. Guaranteed smiles and gut-busting laughs.

But…

…I hear SNL (Saturday Night Live) isn’t doing too well with their new cast. True?

Either way, here’s some fun “stuff”-in-a-box that’s guaranteed to put a smile on yo’ face this weekend- and actually every week:

Santa Claus Came To Town… And Did WHAT?

Hip Hop Santa Claus

Hip Hop Santa Claus trains at Byfield Dance Experience

So guess who had a private lesson with me a few days ago?

Don’t let the belly fool you, because Santa’s got talent. The North Pole’s best-kept secret isn’t who’s on the nice list, but who’s on the dance floor.

Official Business Yo’

If you didn’t already know, I’m Santa Claus’ official dance coach- right here in Toronto. Every year, I help Santa get ready for his global sleigh ride, to drop off toys and dance passes (aka the best gifts ever) to eager peeps worldwide.

Before we started, I asked him what he thought of his belly and if that would stop him from bustin’ out. His reply:

“While most people hit the gym, I hit the dance floor. Most people see me as a jolly fat man. But underneath this suit I’m a lean, mean, dancing machine.”

True story. So how does he do it every year? Here’s the secret…

Santa uses hip hop classes to increase his energy levels, which builds his stamina for his global trip on Christmas Eve. To get him fired up, he consults a dance expert (yours truly) to help him prep for the big day. Muscle-head gym trainers make him feel a bit intimidated (shhhh… I’ve said too much) so he feels more comfortable at my dance studio and “Dance Mix ’85.”

Hey, he’s old skool. Like REALLY old skool. Zapp & Roger baby!

Bearded Fat Man Finds Way To NOT Exercise And Still Stuff Cookies In His Face

Claus KNOWS dancing is terrific exercise and an excellent alternative to the gym. And the best part?

You don’t FEEL like you’re exercising. You’re too busy grooving and having fun you totally forget you’re working out. Pretty cool. Old White Beard made some great progress in our hip hop class the other day and had a few sweaty words before he left:

“I love bringing joy to people’s lives. But more importantly, dancing brings joy to MY life. Groovin’ on the dance floor keeps me movin’ on Chrstmas Eve. Ho ho ho!”

Do you relate? Is the dance floor your favourite place to celebrate the holiday?
