Worried that you can’t dance? Sometimes fear gets in our own way. These Toronto hip hop dancers below started out as regular people who dived in anyway to a beginner hip hop class at #BDXstudio- and now look what they can do!
Take a look… The brand-new Blogsite for Byfield Dance Experience is a go! I’m a bit slow, but slow and steady wins the race right? Your new BDX home away from home is finally:
“Fully automated… and unstoppable.”
– Miriam McColl in i Think i Can
Why a “Blogsite?” instead of a regular website, you ask? 5 reasons:
- Because we’re different. At BDX we’re interactive. And a blog let’s you connect with us through videos, photos, polls and more.
- Because so much happens weekly, a blog captures that energy and excitement. BDX isn’t boring, so a plain old boring website just won’t cut it.
- Because with a blog, it’s easy to share news and studio updates, from anywhere. At like, any time.
- Because unlike other studios, we think WAY outside the box. The blog allows our students to participate in our forward thinking genius.
- Google likes blogs. And we all like Google. Fresh, updated content keeps our dance classes easy to find in the search engine when you’re iching to throw down.
Thanks for your support friends! The steps are all coming together.
Dance info still points to my current website, but that will also change soon. New dance stuff will be on the BDX blogsite regularly, so bookmark the page, add to your favourites and DARE I suggest making it your homepage? It even looks kinda nifty in your Android phone or iThingy.
And it’s ready for you to SHARE to your peeps. Go there now and share away!

Ever wanted to make a difference? Ever want to give back to your friends, peers in need?
Well guess what… Just by supporting dance in your community, you’re ALREADY giving back. Here’s how:
Because you support dance, you show the powers that be how important it is to have a thriving arts community. Because you experience dance activities in Toronto and across Canada, our culture continues to grow creatively. How we communicate with each other, how we de-stress, how we choose to spend our dollars and what we talk about around the water cooler is often inspired by dance and the arts.
Dance has purpose! And has no prejudice. Art always inspires new ideas, creates movements, forces us to think bigger and teaches us to embrace the differences and uniqueness of all people.
Because you dance, you not only express your own inner passions and reward your body, but you also show a mutual respect for others who share in passion. Offering time, aid or resources when needed, and recognizing the passions and achievements of others is what keeps a community strong.
(Just a few ways BDX gave back to the community: Free dance classes for Thanksgiving Food Drive; Hip Hop for Haiti; Family Fitness classes and talks at deserving elementary schools; plus daily dance classes for all adults to enjoy.)
An important note to be aware of: What you contribute here, affects more than you see. Your community is the world! What you do in this city can actually affect the lives of others around the globe.
Making a difference is easier than you think. So will you share the love this holiday? Will you help grow a wonderful world? Choose an experience that enhances your life and your community.
Safe and Happy Holidays everywhere!
