Let’s face it… It’s actually NOT about you.
Zig Ziglar said it best: come from a place of service. Put other people’s wants needs and desires first. When you help enough people get what they want, you’ll in turn be rewarded with what you want.
Wow! Rocket science!
I’ve always loved this principle, and work hard to encourage or inspire others around me. But don’t get me wrong. You might relate to me on this one…
Yup, Totally Selfish
It’s true- we all have wants and needs and we all need help to achieve our goals. I have giant dreams. Pretty sure you do also. As humans, we’re totally selfish by nature. It’s a survival thing, and that’s OK.
BUT! The life altering difference is realizing this: People genuinely WANT to help others that genuinely care about them. Consider this fact: Helping others is embedded in the deepest fibers of our being. I support you, you support me. And the cycle continues.
Isn’t that the way it should be?
“Yeah, But I Feel Bad For Asking…”
Don’t worry… There’s nothing wrong in wanting something. There’s nothing wrong in having desires. And there’s NOTHING WRONG with somebody wanting something from YOU.
The question to ask yourself is this: Will your exchange be a mutual beneficial one? Or is one of you being greedy or self indulgent at the others expense?
Listen… Healthy tribes and communities are not grown through individual greed.
It’s not about you! Its actually about “we.” How can WE help each other? That’s how healthy communities thrived for thousands of years. Everyone had something unique to offer. They in turn relied on the services and asked help of others to prosper provide for their family.
So let me ask you… How have you shown interest in others lately? How have you tried to help THEM? And how can you aid, help or simply encourage just one more person today?
Here’s your chance to find ways to nurture, help and encourage others. You’ll find a reward waiting for you!
Have an inspired week,
