Ready for hip hop dance classes!

I’ve finally made the changes to my site! Take a look now:

Shawn Byfield chillin’

It is SO simple to read and use. Everything you need to know is on ONE page- either the tap dance page or the hip hop page. You choose.

Check out my website today, so you won’t be confused as to how to register for your membership. It’s also just one click near the bottom of each page.

In 24 hours, you’ll be able to grab yourself a spot in class. Hip hop classes are now at the Eaton Centre. Yup, the EATON CENTRE Goodlife Fitness. I’m working out details for tap, thanks hoofers for your patience.

STUDENTS: make sure you check out the “Amazing Student Deals” page, it’s the ONLY page you need to read. I think you’ll like. =)

I’ll be starting registration at 6am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, to be fair to everyone. I have a feeling I’ll run out of memberships this week… if that happens I’ll have to take the page off-line until I can arrange more classes.

Here’s a question: What’s a good week DAY for you?

As always, please post your thoughts on my BLOG. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. See you soon,

– SB

PS: I’m so excited to dance in our new location!

  1. it’s working now ! thanks shawn !!! i was starting to stress out that i wouldn’t get a spot. haha

  2. Alex- clicking REFRESH in your browser should do the trick. The PayPal links are near the bottom of the page.

Sarah- I’m excited too! For now, I’m still building the schedule, and there’s only one of me! So far I will be teaching the weeknight classes and the earlier Saturday classes.

However, I travel quite a bit to teach other classes so you’ll be in the good hands of my team Chris, Tangara and Melissa. They’re pretty cool. You probably won’t want me anymore after you’ve had them as your teacher! =(

  3. Hi Shawn!

I’m so excited to dance with you again…but I’m not sure that Thursday eve is gonna work for me cuz I have to work (damn bills!). Also, Saturday I dance until 2pm so 1:45 is too early….boooo! During the DAY would be amazing! or just a bit later on Saturday? My other question is are the teachers gonna be teaching the same classes consistently? do you know which ones you’re teaching?

  4. Thanks for today’s feedback gang! My plan is to expand the schedule by renting more space for tap and hip hop classes. But that will take some time.

Right now hip hop classes are ONLY on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights; and starting in mid November I will have some on Saturday afternoons.

So the more people that I know request certain days/nights or weekends, that’s what I’ll do. I’d like to have more weekday classes and weekend classes before Christmas.

Tell your peeps to post their thoughts on my blog also, so I get an idea of what works best for them as well.

AND REMEMBER- If you’re a student, visit the AMAZING STUDENT DEALS page on my website!

  5. Hi there,
I have been getting this newsletter for awhile and have yet to take a class. However, I’ve been trying to make this work for awhile. You see, I go to York U and busing to the classes is quite a long way. Now that wouldn’t normally be a problem at all, as I know I live in the middle of nowhere and have to bus for a long time to get anywhere, except for the fact that sometimes I go back home (Hamilton) on Thursdays, and classes on those nights don’t work well for me at all. Looking at the comments people have left already, it seems as though the majority enjoy the weekend classes. However, I thought I’d put in a request for a Tuesday or Wednesday Intermediate/Advanced Tap Class.
I’m not really interested in the whole hip hop thing at the moment (I am a self-declared bunhead), but I don’t want to buy a pass now, just in case the tapping thing doesn’t work out. Is this a good idea? However, I do really like the idea.
I am definitely looking forward to doing some tapping soon!

  6. Hey Shawn
its been awhile. congradulations on your nomination. I watched your video and I’m totally into your membership system as I’m still a student. Only problem is I can’t take level 2 class on a thursday night. I dance every Sunday and thursday night-any other night of the week or any time on the weekend I could do. Let me know if there are other possibilities. You are an awsome entrapreneur-very inspiring. I’m proud of you.
    In Dance,

  7. Hi Shawn;

I’ll look forward to some news about tap classes in November! Evenings or weekends (like Saturday’s afternoon class) are good for me. I have a friend who’s interested too (I’ve been going on and on about your classes!). The pass idea sounds great – I’m ready to register!

  8. Marisa- students can use their Sweet Ass Dance Pass on ANYTHING. Any class you want to take. It’s interchangable for tap and hip hop!

It will be a punch card, so every time you show up we’ll punch one class from your card until it’s done. Spread the word.

  9. Michele- I don’t think you’ve read the hip hop dance page, because your calendar is already there.

And registration STARTS at 6am. It continues until my classes are full, which is roughly 25-30 people per class in the new space. But you only get a discount on Wednesday if you act quick enough.

Thanks for the comments everyone on class times that are best for you, keep em coming!

  10. Hi Shawn,

I’m very interested in your class. I’m truly a beginner but
    love to dance.

Would you send me a calander of when your classes take
place. Also, 6 A.M. is a bit early for registration! How long
are you going to be there?

    Thanks again.

  11. Hey Shawn!
I LOVE the sound of this new student system! (especially for those of us who are not always in Toronto)
I DEFINITELY want to come in and tap with you…and perhaps hit up some hip hop classes too.
Just one question…Let’s say I got the student pass…do I have to get an exclusively TAP one? or can i get one and then come to a mixture of classes for the 9 that are included?
Also, PLEASE create a weekend Int/Adv. TAP class! That would be amaaaaaazing! (Saturday OR Sunday afternoon)
